Centre didn’t prevent NREGA fund diversion: Apex court

NEW DELHI - The Supreme Court Monday pulled up the central government for doing nothing to prevent the diversion by the states of funds allocated under National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA).
“This is a very serious issue,” said an apex court bench headed by Chief Justice S.H. Kapadia while hearing a public suit by the Centre for Environment and Food Security.
