UAE, Unicef to rehabilitate child camel jockeys

Abu Dhabi, April 29 (IANS/WAM) The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will launch a rehabilitation programme for child camel jockeys in association with Unicef.

Discussions on how to generate revenue for child jockeys, improve living standards of their families and how to integrate them into the local communities were held here Wednesday.

Nasser Al Menhali, acting assistant undersecretary of the ministry of interior for naturalisation, residency and exit affairs, and Mohamoud Qabeel, ambassador of goodwill to the Unicef took part in the discussions and spoke on enhancing joint cooperation for protection of the child jockeys.
